School: M-TEC
Welcome to the M-TEC School Page
Mr. Josh Jennings, SCCTC Assistant Director and Dean of M-TEC: Students enrolled in the M-TEC learning community at Springfield-Clark CTC have a unique opportunity to learn from master instructors both academically and in the specific Career-Tech program in which they are enrolled. These instructors have many years of industry experience in the fields that they teach. M-TEC programs have developed and are currently developing strong relationships with local and regional business partners. These partnerships allow us to better serve our students with placement opportunities and keep them up-to-date with business and industry trends that will help them be successful in gaining employment in a competitive work environment.
M-TEC instructors and administrators have worked hard in developing strong relationships with post-secondary education providers to ensure that there is a seamless transition in place for students who desire to further educational opportunities after high school. These institutions include but are not limited to Columbus State University, Clark-State Community College and Sinclair Community College. Many of the M-TEC programs have articulated credit agreements with these institutions that allow our students to earn college credit for courses that they are taking at Springfield-Clark CTC.
The transportation industry is one of the fastest growing sectors of Ohio's economy. Our transportation pathway instructors assist students with mastering the skills needed to obtain industry related certifications and credentials related to this industry.
The construction trade programs are actively involved with multiple construction projects throughout the year. One of these projects includes the building of a home from the ground up.
Our Engineering, Welding and Computer Aided Drafting and Design courses engage students in learning a variety of components related to manufacturing, construction, engineering and beyond.
Besides the classroom and lab instruction that a student receives in one of our M-TEC programs, there are also opportunities for internships, externships, early placement, and work study. These opportunities come from our strong relationships with business and industry. We encourage these types of learning opportunities where students can go to school without being in school.
