Manufacturing remains at the heart of Ohio's economy, with a wealth of new jobs projected in the fi eld in the coming years. Machining, welding and fabrication applications are the building blocks of many manufacturing processes. The SCCTC Manufacturing Technologies curriculum focuses on preparing students for this highly technical career path with practical, hands-on learning experiences.

Did you know that over half of all the products made in America require the skill of a welder during the manufacturing process? This is a fast growing occupation with many job opportunities in the next ten years. You will learn the techniques and skills necessary to fabricate and weld metals. Join the high-tech world of manufacturing.

Students develop skills through many hands-on applications that are taught in the Welding lab. Students visit local welding shops through job-shadowing opportunities in their junior year. During their senior year, students who demonstrate advanced skills have opportunities to get a job through the early placement program or through the registered apprenticeship program.

Students may further their education at a four-year university, community college, or technical institute. This program can be a valuable stepping stone by providing students with skills they can use to earn money while they pursue advanced training.
