Information Technology Academy - In the Information Technology Academy, students will learn core skills essential to a successful career in the IT field and will also be introduced to three exciting pathways: Computer Networking Systems, Multimedia Production, and Software Program Design. During the junior year, students will spend a twelve week rotation with each of the three I.T. instructors learning the basics of each area and have the opportunity to earn college credits and nationally recognized industry certification such as: Adobe Certified Associate, Microsoft Office Specialist, and A+ and CIW Web Foundations Associate all for free. At the end of the junior year, students will be able to choose their specialty area of concentration for their senior year, and earn additional certifications and college credits.
In Software Program Design, students will learn how to solve business problems using programming techniques and procedures, while applying appropriate languages and software. Students will learn Visual Basic 2005 and C++ during the two-year program. Programming skills will also be applied in web site design learning XHTML and CSS as well as Actionscript in Adobe Flash. Students earn college credit from Clark State Community College by successfully demonstrating proficiency of skills while enrolled in this program. CSCC provides an opportunity to earn a Tech Prep scholarship to students who meet academic and attendance requirements.
Students will solve business computer problems through programming techniques and procedures, using appropriate languages and software. Primary emphasis will be placed on object oriented program code found in program languages such as Visual Basic, XHTML, ActionScript and JavaScript. Students will receive hands-on training to design, develop, test, document, implement and maintain applications.
