The Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center

Teacher Exploration Program (one-year program, seniors only)

Teachers, teacher's aides, counselors, daycare providers, childcare workers - the education field offers a host of exciting career opportunities. The SCCTC Education and Training career field helps our students prepare for these positions with a practical, well balanced curriculum that offers real-life work experience and training. Students understand first-hand the challenges associated with these jobs, and learn the skills needed to succeed in this field, helping them to be better prepared for their chosen career paths.

Over the next ten years, more than two million teaching jobs are expected to be available to meet rising enrollment demands and to replace an aging teaching workforce.

TEP is a half-day, senior only program with classes held at Clark State Community College. Students participate in internships at elementary, middle and high school, special education and career/technical education classes. Participants will learn how to plan lessons and see students and teachers in action.
