Teachers, teacher's aides, counselors, daycare providers, childcare workers - the education field offers a host of exciting career opportunities. The SCCTC Education and Training career field helps our students prepare for these positions with a practical, well balanced curriculum that offers real-life work experience and training. Students understand first-hand the challenges associated with these jobs, and learn the skills needed to succeed in this field, helping them to be better prepared for their chosen career paths.
Education begins with life. Learn the skills needed to become a trained child care professional. You must have the skills employers need; and as the number of working parents continues to grow in society, the need for quality childcare continues to expand.
Students develop skills and work habits by working in a state-of the-art childcare facility – the Early Childhood Education Center. Students have opportunities to work with children 6-weeks through 5 years of age at the center. This is a good program to prepare for early childhood education or social work.
Graduates from the Early Childhood Education & Care Program are encouraged to further their education to receive a two-year associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. Students may earn college credits toward a degree at Clark State Community College by successfully completing the Early Childhood Education & Care Program.
