From nursing assistants to dental assistants, our program offers the hands on experience that helps our students succeed. Armed with this practical education experience, SCCTC students are better prepared to enter the workforce or to transition seamlessly into post graduate studies.
The demand for health-related services continues to rise rapidly, especially in this fast-growing field. Prepare for a successful career in the CTC Dental Assisting Program. The sky is the limit. Complete this program and prepare to choose one of these career options: secure a full-time, well-paying job; go on to dental hygiene school, or continue your education and become a dentist.
Basic dental assisting skills are taught and will enable students to enter the workforce or continue their education after graduation.
The basic training offered at the CTC will enable a student to gain an entry-level position as a chair-side assistant, office receptionist or laboratory assistant. Most laboratory technicians will require additional training either on the job or at a formal training institute. Students who complete this program and pass the State Board Exam will receive their Ohio Dental Assistant’s Certification and Dental Radiographer’s License. Many students choose to continue their education at a two or four-year university, community college or technical institute. If students meet eligibility requirements they can receive scholarship money from Sinclair Community College to attend the Dental Hygiene program. They can also receive college credit for passing the DH120 Dental Terminology Test from Sinclair.
